Privacy Policy
This site is a personal portfolio run by Shun Inagaki. This page explains what information the site handles when you visit and how that relates to how the site actually works today.
Information we handle
You do not need an account to browse this site, and these pages do not load third-party analytics products. Depending on how you use the site, it may handle: chat messages you send through the chat widget (sent to AWS Bedrock to generate a reply, and kept briefly in server memory for conversation context); a language-preference cookie when you switch between English and Japanese; and routine server information for chat requests (such as a session identifier and IP address) used for operations and rate limiting. Ordinary page views are served like a typical website; the site does not invent additional tracking beyond what is described here.
Chatbot
If you use the chat widget, the text you send is transmitted to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock to generate a reply. Messages for your browser session are kept in the server's memory as conversation history so the chat can stay in context. That history is not stored in a database. Idle chat sessions are removed after about 24 hours of inactivity, and all in-memory history is cleared when the application restarts. Server logs may record that a chat request occurred (including a session identifier, IP address, and message length) for operations and rate limiting; rate-limit counters are also kept in memory.
Cookies / language preference
When you switch between English and Japanese, the site sets a cookie named Portfolio.Culture. It stores only your language choice (English or Japanese) for up to one year. This cookie is used solely to display the language you selected; the site does not use a separate consent banner for it.
Contact
The contact section on the home page offers email and social links only. There is no contact form on this site, and the site does not send mail through SMTP or a similar mail service on your behalf. If you email or message me through those external links, that communication is handled by the provider you choose, not by a form on this site.
Retention
Chat conversation history lives only in the application's memory for your browser session, is not written to a database, and is removed after about 24 hours of inactivity or when the application restarts. In-memory rate-limit counters follow the same kind of short-lived server-side retention. The Portfolio.Culture cookie may remain in your browser for up to one year unless you delete it. Operational logs that mention chat requests are kept only as needed to run and protect the site.
Updates
I may update this page when the site changes. The current version is always available at /Privacy.
